Farmer John Bell for The Guardian Weekend

I was commissioned to photograph farmers John and David Bell for The Guardian Weekend Magazine recently for a story about Scottish beef. John and his son David farm land next to the sea in Fife, Scotland. You can read the article in The Guardian Online here.

The land that John and his son David farm in east Fife has been farmed by the family for generations. Here are a few of my favourite images of the Aberdeen Angus cattle, of John in the simply but beautifully named Single Tree Field and from around the farm which weren’t used editorially.

It was an enjoyable shoot, spent photographing kind, generous, interesting and passionate people in a beautiful corner of Scotland.
